
A majestic red sandstone edifice standing on the middle of Man Sagar Lake is the beautiful Jal Mahal of Jaipur. Constructed by Maharaja Madho Singh I and renovated by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 18th century, the 'Water Palace', was primarily used for holding a royal hunt and as a relaxation spot and it stand out as the finest symbol of royalty that was used by the Jaipur kings. With the typical Rajput architectural style, Jal Mahal appears to float on the waters of the lake.Out of five floors of the palace, four have remained under water once the lake has its fill up.
