Located at the summit is the Telescope House that affords a clear view of the surrounding tea plantations and the different valleys through a high-powered telescope, which is made available by the Dept of Tourism, Govt. Of Tamil Nadu. Visitors can enjoy coffee and refreshments while taking in the breathtaking view. A hot-spot for nature lovers, trekkers and ornithologists, Doddabetta presents a serene, salubrious atmosphere. It’s a perfect haven for trekkers, for people who are keen on photography and for an informal, relaxing break far from the din of city life. It is a popular half-day destination given its location just 9 km away from Ooty and its convenient approachability.
