Adventure @ Kodachadri

Also this is very own place where Goddess Mookambika was born and that this place the demon Mookasura was Killed by the Goddess using her Thishool and even today you can see the Thishool on the top of the hill near the temple.

At this place the famous saint Sankaracharya visited in 13 th century and meditated at the highest Point, at this place goddess Mookambika appeared and gave him boons for his divine meditation and this place today is called Sarvajna Peeta and also temple is built there having small statue of Sankaracharya.

This was the brief history explained in the simplest way by our guide Mr. Naveen on my way to the trip.

I am Vishwanath, graduated B.E (Electrical) in PESIT am a travel enthusiast along with my Friends Praveen, Mahesh, Sandeep, Arjun and Vivek regularly like to Travel to different parts of India and like to explore them.

Our batch was planning to visit Kodachadri from Long time and the master mind to this trip was Mr. Sandeep. He is basically from Mysore has lot of enthusiasm in Travelling and Trekking. Sandeep and I along with our 3 Friends left to Kodachadri by 11:00 am from Bangalore and had a plan to stay in Sagar for the Day and drove ourselves in a Wagon R.

We ended the day by staying in our friend Mahesh’s house in Sagara. Mahesh was the Localite who again had lot of Info about Shimoga Dist… And after Dinner we planned the Trip to Kodachadri and set off on the track early morning as the place was 70 kms from Sagara.

On the way to Kodachadri we visited Sharavathi Backwaters and waited for a ferry and by the Local Influence of Mahesh we need had to wait too long to get in, as there is queue system for the non-local vehicles to enter Ferry. It nearly took 1 hour for us to Cross the backwaters via Ferry and later continue towards Siganduru-The Famous Chowdeshwari Temple (Must Visit Place) on the river Banks of Sharavathi and post Visiting the Temple we Continued our journey towards Kodachadri and By the Time we Reach The Base it was already 4:00 pm and we had a good late Lunch and Hired a Jeep and had a plan to Camp in Kodachadri where only jeeps travel as the route is totally Off-road and heads in to Jungles and Mountains and it took 2 hrs for us to reach the peak Courtesy Mr. Naveen and the Jeep.

Hello! My name is Alex and I stumbled upon your site while doing a quick Google search. Before I get into this, I would like to complement your site on the theme that is currently has, simple yet stylish. Back on topic, I really love the posts and the quality of them, most of the sites that write about the same things that you do are very repetitive and boring. I enjoy reading your posts, keep it up.
