The  surrounding beauty, especially that of the reservoir of forests and hills, can be particularly well seen in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun's light is soft and golden. To reach the dam, you may hire a local taxi/ auto rickshaw from Ramanagara. Ramanagara Railway Station is the nearest to Kanva Dam. The distance between the railway station and the dam is approximately 15 km. From Ramanagara, take a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to the dam. Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) is approximately 40 km from Bangalore city centre.
