Periyar forest is thickest wildlife reserve of India, as it is spread across entire Iduki district almost covering the Ernakulum of the east, it has plenty of plantations (flora) and captivating hill towns which hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.
Getting an Opportunity to take clients for a night trek in the Munnar Thekkaddy Forest as a guide was one of the cherishing moment of my life as I had a team of 10 members and 1 rifled escort. It was a 2.5 hour trek in the jungle at night, as the clients and myself were enjoying each and every bit of what the nature offered also we had sighted few animals like the deer’s (might be samba) and spotted heard’s of Elephants and the distant closer to the Periyar lake.
The trek was pretty exorcise, as we were far from the human habitation and the surrounding jungle experience with pitch dark background was totally cherishing as the overall experience was very good, as every member of the trekking party – that was limited as we had 10 in our group- also had very powerful torches, and riffled escort to make us feel more secure and for more in info visit the site.
